Although sim racers like Forza and Gran Turismo have pretty much taken the throne from EA’s published series, Need for Speed still holds a sweet spot in the hearts of many racing fans. It captures a more secretive criminal feel not found in other franchises. Although the quality of Need for Speed games has declined in recent years, EA continues to create new games and find an audience. EA has already confirmed that it has a new Need for Speed game on the way and it was due to release in 2021. The game has been delayed so the benchmark can help with that. Battlefield 2042.

It was also indicated that the game will be released exclusively for current-generation consoles on December 2, 2022, which means that EA is planning a very short marketing cycle for the new racing game. It’s unclear if this indicates the quality of the game or if EA is just trying to create a nice short build of the game. As of now, we know very little about the game, but some information and leaked content suggests that it will be heavily stylized and feature races with stylized set pieces.
If EA plans to reveal it soon, it looks like it will be on its own rather than a big show like the PlayStation State of Play or Xbox event.
